Start onboarding directly from a received email

When a user opens the Business Partner Configurator add-in for a selected Outlook message, it reads the sender's display name and email address. The add-in separates a recognizable first and last name, remembers the user's company subdomain and opens the web configurator in the correct tenant with those values already filled in.

This shortens the path from an initial sales, purchasing or service conversation to a qualified customer, supplier or lead record. The user still controls generation and reviews every suggested company, contact and address value before synchronization.

The add-in passes only the displayed sender name and email address. Message body, attachments and Microsoft credentials are not sent to the Business Partner generator.
Email signature recognition

Convert a copied signature into structured fields

Users can paste an existing email signature into the configurator instead of entering each field separately. The parser searches the text for a valid email address and uses recognizable email patterns to derive names where possible. It also examines individual signature lines for company names, academic titles, job roles and phone labels.

URLs are normalized and separated into company websites and profile links such as LinkedIn or Xing. Telephone numbers are normalized, duplicate findings are removed and address-like number sequences are filtered to reduce false matches. Every detected value is shown in an editable field; the parser never replaces the human validation step.

Scan physical business cards in the browser

On devices with an available camera, users can photograph a business card from the configurator. Browser-based OCR analyzes the captured image with Tesseract and checks the card at 0, 90, 180 and 270 degrees. This rotation pass helps recognize an email address even when the card or mobile device was held in a different orientation.

After text recognition, the same structured parser extracts names, company indicators, roles, phone numbers, websites and profile URLs. If no email address is found, the user receives a clear warning while other recognized values can still be retained and corrected manually. Camera errors and missing browser permissions are also reported without blocking manual entry.

Why does the configurator require a business email domain?

A company domain provides the context needed to identify and enrich an organization. Addresses from generic providers offer little reliable company-specific information, so the configurator warns the user and prevents automated generation for known generic domains. This avoids presenting uncertain consumer-domain assumptions as trusted master data.

Authentication and synchronization are separate from data capture: Microsoft Entra ID controls access to the tenant, while configured connections determine where an approved record is published.

Each organization is addressed through its company subdomain. Users authenticate with their Microsoft account, and protected application routes retain the originally requested destination during sign-in. Authenticated API requests carry the session token; expired or invalid sessions return the user to the login flow.

ERP and CRM record synchronization

Saving the final validation summary sends the complete Business Partner—including organization, contacts and addresses—to the synchronization service. Depending on tenant configuration, approved records can be published immediately, moved along scheduled source-to-target routes, or distributed from an ERP event to all other active connections.

The dashboard exposes the operational result instead of hiding synchronization behind a single success message. Users can see active ERP connections, source and target systems, external record IDs, recent synchronization timestamps, route schedules, time zones and previous or upcoming runs.
